Privacy and data
The calculators on this site run in the browser, and the numbers a reader enters are never sent to a server.
Calculators and entered numbers
The calculators run entirely in the browser. Lot size, margin or pip value figures typed into a calculator are processed on the reader's own device and are never transmitted to a server, stored in a database or attached to a profile. Closing the tab discards them.
This matters for gold because the numbers a reader enters, such as position size in lots of 100 oz or an account balance in AED, describe their own trading. The desk does not want them and does not collect them.
The Third Parties That Receive Data From This Site
The third parties involved with Sikka Spread are limited to the analytics provider that processes anonymised visit data, the broker FxPro when you click an affiliate link, and the hosting provider that serves the pages. No other company receives information from this site. The analytics provider is contractually bound to use the data only for aggregate reporting and not to re-identify visitors. FxPro receives data only after you click through to their site, and from that point their own privacy policy applies.
The hosting provider processes standard server logs that include IP addresses for security and uptime monitoring, but these logs are not shared with us in a form that identifies individuals. They are retained for a short period and then deleted. The analytics provider does not receive calculator inputs or any text you type into forms. FxPro, as the broker, will collect your registration details on its own platform, and those details never flow back to Sikka Spread. We do not sell or rent data to any third party.
No social media pixels, advertising networks, or data brokers are integrated into Sikka Spread. The only external scripts are the analytics script and the broker's tracking pixel, and both are described in the cookie section. For UAE readers, this means your AED transactions and local bank transfer information are handled entirely by FxPro if you open an account, under their regulatory obligations. Sikka Spread does not act as a payment intermediary and never sees financial details.
Cookies on Sikka Spread and the Purpose of Each Kind
Sikka Spread uses two kinds of cookies: strictly necessary cookies that keep the site functioning, and analytics cookies that help us understand which pages are used. Strictly necessary cookies handle basic tasks like page navigation and session security, and they do not collect information for marketing. Analytics cookies are optional and are only set if you agree through the cookie notice; they record anonymised visit patterns, not your identity or trading activity. No advertising cookies are set by Sikka Spread itself.
The strictly necessary cookies store no personal data and expire when you close your browser or after a short fixed period. They are used to remember your cookie choice and to protect forms from cross-site request forgery. Because they are essential, they cannot be switched off through the site, but you can block them in your browser settings, though some parts of the page may then stop working. For UAE readers, these cookies do not process any AED amounts or local bank transfer details.
Analytics cookies on Sikka Spread are provided by a third-party service and are configured to anonymise IP addresses before storage. They measure page views, referral sources, and general geographic region, not individual behaviour. They do not record calculator entries, broker clicks, or any field you fill in. You can withdraw consent at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer, and the analytics cookies will be removed on your next page load. No cookie on this site is used to build a profile for advertising.
Broker cookies and third parties
A broker linked from this site sets its own cookies under its own policy. Once a reader follows an affiliate link, the broker's site, not this one, controls what is stored and why, and the broker's privacy policy is the document that applies. The desk cannot see or change what a broker collects.
The desk does not sell reader data, because it does not hold reader data to sell. Questions about this page go to [email protected].
What Sikka Spread Stores and What It Does Not
Sikka Spread stores only the data you actively submit through its forms, such as a contact email or a calculator input you choose to save, and it does not store any trading account credentials, payment details, or identity documents. The site has no facility to hold broker login information, so nothing of that kind can be retained even if you enter it by mistake. For UAE readers, this means your AED funding details and local bank transfer information never reach our servers because we never ask for them.
The site does not store your IP address in a raw form, your device fingerprint, or any persistent identifier that could be used to recognise you across visits. Any technical data that passes through server logs is limited to what is needed for the page to load, and it is not linked to a profile. Calculator entries remain in your browser and are not transmitted to us, so the numbers you type for gold lot sizes or margin estimates stay on your device.
Sikka Spread does not build user accounts, so there is no stored profile, watchlist, or saved portfolio on our side. The only exception is if you email us voluntarily: then your message and email address are kept so we can reply. Nothing else about your session, your broker preferences, or your trading experience is recorded by the site itself. This minimal approach is deliberate because the tool is designed to work without collecting personal data.
Your Rights Over Data and How to Exercise Them
You have the right to ask what personal data Sikka Spread holds about you, to request a copy, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted, and you can exercise these rights by emailing the contact address in the footer. Because the site collects very little, in most cases we will hold only an email if you contacted us. We will respond within a reasonable period, typically within 30 days, and we will not charge a fee for a simple request. For UAE readers, these rights apply regardless of where the data is processed.
To make a request, email us with enough detail for us to identify you, such as the email address you used to contact us, and state what you want us to do. We may ask for verification to avoid disclosing data to the wrong person. If you withdraw cookie consent, the analytics cookies will be removed on your next visit, and you can also clear them manually in your browser. You do not need to justify your request.
If you believe your data has been mishandled, you can complain to us first, and we will investigate. You also have the right to complain to the relevant data protection authority in the UAE. Sikka Spread does not profile you or make automated decisions based on your data, so there is no automated decision-making to object to. The rights described here are provided in plain terms so you can use them without legal help.
Retention Periods and What Causes Deletion
Sikka Spread keeps contact emails only for as long as needed to answer your query and for a short follow-up period, after which they are deleted. Analytics data is retained in anonymised form for a fixed period set by the analytics provider, typically up to 14 months, and then automatically deleted. Server logs held by the hosting provider are kept for a brief security window, usually no more than 30 days. No data is kept indefinitely.
Deletion is triggered by the passage of the retention period, by your request, or by the withdrawal of cookie consent for analytics cookies. When you clear your browser cookies, the analytics cookies set by Sikka Spread are removed immediately on your device. If you ask us to delete your email, we will remove it from our inbox and any backup within a reasonable time. There is no archive of personal data beyond these limits.
You can cause deletion yourself by clearing cookies or using private browsing, which prevents cookies from being stored in the first place. For emails, only we can delete them from our systems, so you need to send a request. The retention periods are kept short because the site has no ongoing need for personal data. This policy applies to all readers, including those in the UAE.
Traffic counts and local storage
Only aggregate traffic counts are collected, such as how many times a page was opened. These counts do not identify a reader and are not used to build a profile or to target advertising. There is no individual tracking of what a reader reads across the site.
Local storage holds the reader's own preferences, such as a chosen display setting, on the reader's device. It is not a server-side record, it is not shared with a broker, and clearing the browser removes it.
Affiliate Tracking When You Use a Broker Link
Sikka Spread earns a commission when a reader follows a link to FxPro and opens an account, and that link carries a tracking code so the broker can attribute the visit to us. The tracking code identifies Sikka Spread, not you: it does not contain your name, email, or any personal data. It is a simple identifier stored in the link itself or in a cookie set by the broker after you click. The commission does not change what you pay, because FxPro sets its costs independently of our referral.
The affiliate tracking is stated plainly here because you should know when a link is monetised. Every outbound link to FxPro on this site is an affiliate link, and clicking it may set a cookie from FxPro that lasts according to their policy, not ours. We do not receive the details of your trading account, your deposits, or your results. We only see aggregate reports showing that a referral occurred, without your identity. This is the extent of the affiliate relationship.
No affiliate tracking is applied to links that point to regulators, educational resources, or other non-broker sites. The tracking exists solely to credit Sikka Spread for introducing a reader to FxPro. If you prefer not to be tracked, you can avoid clicking the affiliate link, use a browser that blocks third-party cookies, or navigate to FxPro directly. The choice is yours, and it does not affect your access to the free calculators on this site.
